Our problem, from my perspective, if I can call it like I see it, is that we still want massa to fix our issues whether we know it or not. For example, if we are in search of child support we run right to the white man’s court system that has historically failed to give us justice. Do we even understand what justice is and what we are asking for? If not, here we go.

Justice: n. 1) fairness. 2) moral rightness. 3) a scheme or system of law in which every person receives his/ her/its due from the system, including all rights, both natural and legal.

Seeing that this justice is executed by a system that has strategically oppressed us for centuries, do we then expect to be dealt with fairly based on their idea of moral righteousness?

We expect to be given a fair chance by a system in which 1) The ruling class in the system has a history of destroying their own kind for political agenda and personal gain. 2) The ruling class in the system has destoyed the indigenous population on any land mass that they have obtained. 3) The ruling class in the system has just recently classified blacks as humans as opposed to property to be sold or obtained with bills of sale. I am under no illusion that anybody will fix us but us. In my opinion segregation was a righteous fight but what did it leave us as a people. We need to function as a nation within a nation in order to overcome our issues. We need to move as a body politic and always have a plebiscite for the reforms we decide on.

A body politic can be viewed as the people of a nation, state, or society considered collectively as an organized group of citizens. A plebiscite is the direct vote of all the members of an electorate on an important public question such as a change in the constitution. In short wwe need to unify with a common cause in mind. I guess a good question would be, what are the common causes?

Our common cause should be a change in our culture. Culture is ones way of life, lived out through customs, traditions and courtesies. We need a paradigm shift. We have to chane how we view one another. Love conquers all. Let me explain. If I walk up to someone with the intentions of causing them harm, the odds are that I am not thinking loving thoughts. I have to harbor hate for that person leading up to what I am about to do. Now suppose we practiced love. I’m talking about putting emotions aside and making a decision to practice loving our brothers and sisters. Even if it’s off the strength of the fact that you share a common plight. See if that won’t stop you from wanting to engage in harmful activity.

What would happen if we embrace a culture of love for one another by choice and out of necessity? What if people took care of their neighbor? What if those of us who had it took up the slack for those who didn’t? What if I offered my services to my community for free every now and then? And what if I didn’t expect a discount but was eager to support my brother or sister? Just think about it.
